Clear Soul Forces - “Get No Better”

@ClearSoulForces

I was feeling kinda introspective toward the end of 2011 and took a look back at all my hip-hop albums. Obviously the tangibility of music is becoming less of a focus, but as a fan, its always been important to me to have physical copies of albums. For one, it serves to understand the creative vision the artist was going for while you’re listening, and two: financial support is really the only support when it comes to the music industry.
Here’s what you’re looking at, in alphabetical order:
2Pac, 9th Wonder, 50 Cent, A.G., The Away Team, Ayatollah, AZ, B.o.B., Bad Meets Evil, Beanie Sigel, Big L, Big Remo, Black Milk, Black Rob, Black Star, Bow Wow, Brother Ali, Buckshot, Busta Rhymes, Cee-Lo, Chaundon, Childish Gambino, Clipse, Common, Consequence, Curren$y, Daniel Merriweather, David Banner, De La Soul, Dilated Peoples, Diverse, DMX, Dr. Dre, Drag-on, Elzhi, EMC, Eminem, The Foreign Exchange, Freeway, Funkmaster Flex, G-Unit, Ghostface Killah, Gift of Gab, GLC, Gnarls Barkley, Hall of Justus, Hi-Tek, Iomos Marad, J. Cole, J. Dilla, Ja Rule, Jake One, Jay-Z, Jean Grae, Jermaine Dupri, Jet Life, John Legend, Kanye West, Kaze, Kenn Starr, Kev Brown, Kidz in the Hall, L.E.G.A.C.Y., Lil Wayne, Little Brother, Lloyd Banks, Longshot, Ludacris, Lupe Fiasco, Lyricist Lounge, Ma$e, Maybach Music Group, Memphis Bleek, MF Doom (and alter egos), Michael Jackson, Mike Posner, MIMS, Mos Def, Mulatto Patriot, Murs, Naledge, Nas, Nicolay, Notorious B.I.G., Oddisee, Okay Player, Outkast, Pete Rock, Pharoahe Monch, Phonte, Pitch Black, Q-Tip, R. Kelly (& Jay-Z), R.P.M., Raekwon, Raheem Devaughn, Random Axe, Rapper Big Pooh, Rick Ross, The Roots, Royce da 5’9, Ruff Ryders, Sade, Saigon, Sam I Am, Juelz Santana, Scarface, Sean Price, Shyne Ski Beatz, Skyzoo, Snoop Dogg, Soulive, Soundbombing, State Property, Statik Selektah, stones Throw, Streets is Watching, Supastition, Symbolyc One & Illmind, T.I., Talib Kweli, Tanya Morgan, Torae, Usher, Von Pea, Wale, Wordsworth, X-ecutioners, Young Buck, Young Jeezy, Zo!
There’s some R&B sprinkled in along with local Chicago artists and random soundtracks- but this is about 10 years of music, of which I know the words to about 20 - 25%, maybe more.
I’m looking forward to adding a lot of albums to my collection in 2012, especially from artists who release quality mixtapes or free digital albums i.e. Big KRIT, Rapsody, Add-2, etc. Maybe I’ll do a more comprehensive breakdown next year…
